La marchande de poisson. Estampe. 14 x 18 cm. Accompagné de deux dessins préparatoires à l’estampe, l’un à l’encre sur papier fin (15,5 x 21 cm, papier avec plis et légers manques), le second au fusain (15 x 22 cm, bords abîmés avec petites déchirures).

On y joint également un dessin au crayon représentant un homme avec une canne devant un étal (15 x 22 cm, bords abîmés avec petites déchirures).

Lebedev Ivan Konstantinovitch, dessinateur, illustrateur, graveur sur bois s’installa à Paris en 1909 dans le quartier de Montparnasse. À Montparnasse, il fréquente de nombreux artistes tels Picabia, Maïakovski, Ravel, Pierre Mac Orlan, Éric Satie, Blaise Cendrars, Soutine, Modigliani, André Salmon, Matisse…

Reçu aux Beaux Art de Paris, Lebédéff fut l’un des plus grand graveur sur bois de son époque.

Lebedev Ivan Konstantinovitch was a drawer, illustrator and wood engraver who settled in Paris in 1909 in the Montparnasse district. There, he often spent time with numerous artists like Picabia, Maiakovski, Ravel, Pierre Mac Orlan, Éric Satie, Blaise Cendrars, Soutine, Modigliani, André Salmon, Matisse…

After he was accepted at the Beaux Arts School of Paris, Lébédeff quickly developed a very great talent for printing and illustrating books. He was notably one of the greatest wood engravers of his time.
